Video Games Live

If you don't know, my husband Brandon is a gamer. (For those of you not familiar with the term, it means he loves to play video games.) He played Halo in a tournament a while back (He's actually really really good!) and won concert tickets to the Utah Symphony for Video Games Live. Here's an example of what we were watching. Brandon's favorite of the night of course was Halo: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wbiPo6d_uD0 This guy came and played the piano a couple of times. Super Mario Bro's was amazing!!! He has some stuff on youtube: www.youtube.com/watch?v=jawSFZhFvAE Check them out, it was actually really cool! We were watching the screen the whole time and it was strange to realize that the music was being played live and not recorded with the video. This was also no normal trip to the symphony. As you can tell there were all sorts of lights going on. People would yell out the whole time and cheer in the middle of the songs. It was quite entertaining although I wasn't very familiar with a lot of them! My only gaming experience consists of most Atari games (frogger, pitfall, centipede, and Mrs. Packman were high favorites), some Tetris, a little Sonic and Mario Bro, and currently Dance Dance Revolution, and Wii Sports (I've become a professional bowler. High score 243!!!)

ooouuuch!

So, I'm stuck laying here because my stupid back decided to have a bad day. Two years ago I tore a disk and it's been off and on ever since. I've only had a couple of flare ups like this though, and I didn't even do anything this morning to set it off! I don't get it. It sure makes me angry. I'm doing a bit better since I've just been laying down. Thank goodness my computer is on my t.v., I can waste a lot of time on the computer! I should also get a lot of my book read today. (Have I mentioned that I'm reading "The other Boleyn Girl"? I really like it!) Dax keeps crawling all over me and we 've been playing peek-a-boo behind the blanket I have on. Crap, I just noticed that he has water all over him! Let's just hope I'm instantly healed so that I can change him, feed him and get him in bed!

Sneak Peek

Our floors are here and awaiting installment! They'll get put in our entryway, stairs, hallway, kitchen and t.v. room. They're just hanging out in my little exercise room for now, but I thought I'd show a little preview. I'm so excited and I like to just look at the few pieces put together. I think it will be so pretty! Hopefully I have pictures of the finished look, along with a new banister in a month!

Girl Scout Cookies!

Don't ya just love this time of year, when a cute girl comes to your door with a bag full of cookies!!! I was lucky this year and a neighbor girl scout rang my doorbell when I was home so that I could order some cookies. What a blessed girl! Unfortunately I think I was the last person to get mine and I kept wondering where that girl was with my cookies. My favorites are the Samoas and Thin Mints, so I ordered 2 of each. They are finally here and already we have one box of Samoas down! I can't wait to get to the rest of 'em!

New Embarrassing Moment!

So, I'm always trying to find the perfect outfit for Zumba. The other night I thought I had it pretty good. I have some light weight cargo pants that are old and I use them to exercise in occasionally. I thought they would be perfect for dancing because they look pretty cool. WELL... it started out great, we were doing a lot of squats in the warm up. They were pretty tight but there was no problem. Later on in the workout we were doing some dance moves that also involved squats. Of course I wanted to get into it so that I would have a great workout. Well, on one of those drop down moments, my pants split wide open!!! My thong thong thong thong thong (who wants panty lines?) and my surprised cheeks were instantly exposed! I of course screamed and covered it all right away with my hands. Lucky for the cold weather (did I ever think I would hear myself say that?) I had a sweatshirt that worked great to cover me up. I was able to finish the class with a nice cool breeze from below. So, please take my advice; make sure you wear your stretchy pants and don't dance with your tight pants on!
